How this affects our recommendations — it doesn’t

Our rankings are based on documented specifications from manufacturer manuals and spec sheets, plus cited expert and owner review consensus — not commission rates. A higher payout never buys a better placement. We do not hands-on test products, and we never claim to; every number we publish links to the document it came from. If we can’t recommend anything in a category, we say so.

Display advertising

We also run display advertising. Ads are labeled and are served by third-party networks; they do not influence our editorial rankings.
