Editorial Policy & Methodology

Tiny Kitchen Lab exists to answer one question honestly: which compact appliance actually fits — and works in — a small kitchen? Here is exactly how we do that work, including what we do not do.
What we are (and aren’t)
We are a data-research site, not a hands-on testing lab. We do not buy and physically test the products we cover, and we never claim to. What we do instead is the homework most “best of” lists skip: we read the official documentation.
Where our numbers come from
Every specification we publish — exterior dimensions, vent clearance, rated wattage and amp draw, capacity, weight, noise ratings — is extracted from manufacturer documentation: official user manuals, spec sheets, and support documents. Each number links to the document it came from. Retailer listings frequently disagree with the manufacturer’s own documents; when they do, we use the manual and flag the conflict. If we cannot verify a spec from a primary document, we mark it unverified. We never guess, estimate, or fabricate a number.
How we rank
Rankings weigh documented specifications against the needs of a small-kitchen user — footprint, fit, capacity-for-size, power draw, noise — combined with aggregated review consensus: published expert reviews and verified-owner feedback, cited and linked where we rely on them. Commission rates and advertiser relationships play no role. When no product in a category earns a recommendation, we say so.
Use of AI
We use AI tools to help research documentation, extract specifications, and draft articles. Every published page is reviewed and edited by a human. AI is never used to invent specifications, ratings, or experiences — our data comes only from the cited sources above, and we do not publish fabricated “hands-on” impressions.
Images
Product images come from manufacturers or retailers (used per their affiliate/press terms). Diagrams and illustrations are our own and are labeled as illustrative — we do not pass any image off as our own product photography.
Corrections & freshness
Specs change across product revisions, and prices change constantly; each guide shows its last-updated date and we periodically re-verify against current documentation. If you spot an error, email info@tinykitchenlab.com — we correct quickly and note material corrections on the page.
How we make money
Affiliate commissions and display ads, both disclosed on our Affiliate Disclosure page. Neither influences rankings.
