Quietest Countertop Dishwashers (2026) — Documented Noise Levels Compared
Most countertop dishwasher listings claim a noise level. The question is whether the manufacturer actually published that number — or whether the retailer made it up. We checked all 9 models in our database: only 7 have a noise figure we could trace to an official document.
Here are those 7, ranked from quietest to loudest, with the source document for every dB figure. If the noise isn't documented by the manufacturer, it's not in this guide.
The quick picks
How the 7 compare
Every number below comes from the manufacturer's own documentation — manuals and official spec sheets, linked per model. “—“ means the manufacturer doesn't publish that spec; we never fill gaps with guesses. Want the full database? All models, sortable.

1. Daan Tech Bob the Mini Dishwasher (2 place settings) — Quietest
Daan Tech Bob the Mini Dishwasher (2 place settings)
43 dB(A) per the manual's energy label — 7 dB below the next-quietest model, which means it sounds roughly half as loud. The trade is capacity and size: 2 place settings from a 3.9 L tank. But if noise is the priority — open-plan living, nighttime use, or simply a dislike of appliance drone — nothing else documented here comes close.
Strengths (per specs & cited reviews)
- 43 dB documented — quieter than most refrigerators
- Smallest footprint in the group (34 × 49 cm)
- Lowest water use per cycle (3.8 L)
Watch out for
- 2 place settings — solo or couple use only
- 49 cm depth — deeper than it looks
2. Hermitlux HMX-DW03 Countertop Dishwasher — Quietest with real capacity
Hermitlux HMX-DW03 Countertop Dishwasher
50 dB with 4 place settings is the sweet spot if you need both quiet and capacity. The 7 dB gap to the Bob translates to noticeably louder, but 50 dB is still quiet-conversation territory. Tank + faucet flexibility, 900 W documented, and the most complete spec documentation of any model here.
Strengths (per specs & cited reviews)
- 50 dB with 4 place settings — best quiet-capacity balance
- Complete documentation — zero unverified fields
- Tank + faucet dual-mode
Watch out for
- 7 dB louder than the Bob (noticeably, not dramatically)
- 42.8 cm wide — mid-pack for a countertop unit
3. COMFEE' Countertop Dishwasher CDC22P1 (6 place settings, Energy Star) — Quietest full-size
COMFEE' Countertop Dishwasher CDC22P1 (6 place settings, Energy Star)
At 52 dB, it's the quietest among the full-size (6 place setting) models — 2 dB quieter than the Danby. Energy Star certified with faucet hookup. The spec-sheet noise figure (52 dB) is lower than the 54 dB some retailers list, and it's from the manufacturer's own document. Wattage is unverifiable — an ongoing theme with COMFEE' documentation.
Strengths (per specs & cited reviews)
- Quietest 6-place-setting model documented (52 dB)
- Energy Star certified
- Well-sourced across 4 official documents
Watch out for
- Faucet-only — no tank for portable use
- Wattage unverifiable from official documents
4. Danby DDW631SDB 6 Place Setting Countertop Dishwasher
Danby DDW631SDB 6 Place Setting Countertop Dishwasher
54 dB from the official spec sheet — 2 dB louder than the COMFEE' CDC22 at the same 6 place settings. The Danby wins on wattage (670 W — the lowest in the entire database) and has the most established brand history in the countertop dishwasher space. Faucet-only via Quick Connect.
Strengths (per specs & cited reviews)
- 670 W — lowest wattage in the database
- 6 place settings with established brand support
- 54 dB documented on the spec sheet
Watch out for
- 2 dB louder than the COMFEE' CDC22 at the same capacity
- Faucet-only — no tank option
5. GE GPT225 Series 24" Portable Dishwasher (GPT225SGLWW)
GE GPT225 Series 24" Portable Dishwasher (GPT225SGLWW)
54 dB for 12 place settings is actually impressive — this is a full-size portable dishwasher on casters, not a countertop unit. At 91.4 cm tall and 66.7 kg, it's here because people searching for 'portable dishwasher noise' encounter it. The noise-per-place-setting ratio is the best in our database.
Strengths (per specs & cited reviews)
- 54 dB at full 12-place-setting capacity
- Best noise-to-capacity ratio documented
- GE brand — full service network
Watch out for
- Floor-standing (91.4 cm tall) — not a countertop unit
- 66.7 kg — genuinely heavy
6. HAVA R01 Compact Countertop Dishwasher
HAVA R01 Compact Countertop Dishwasher
60 dB is clearly audible across a room — you'll know it's running. All other specs are well-documented (950 W, 5 L tank, 2 place settings), and the tank + faucet flexibility is there. But if noise matters enough to be reading this guide, the Hermitlux on the same platform at 50 dB is 10 dB (roughly half the perceived loudness) quieter.
Strengths (per specs & cited reviews)
- Fully documented specs including noise
- Tank + faucet at 950 W
Watch out for
- 60 dB — clearly audible across a small apartment
- Same platform as the quieter Hermitlux
7. COMFEE' CDC17P0AWW 5L Portable Mini Dishwasher
COMFEE' CDC17P0AWW 5L Portable Mini Dishwasher
At 62 dB, the COMFEE' CDC17 is the loudest documented model in our database — roughly four times the perceived volume of the Bob at 43 dB. The noise figure comes from the parent brand's (Midea) official page for the identical platform. Good documentation otherwise, and the Midea brand backing is real. But if noise is your concern, this isn't the one.
Strengths (per specs & cited reviews)
- Major brand (Midea/COMFEE') backing
- Tank + faucet flexibility
Watch out for
- Loudest documented model (62 dB)
- Wattage unverifiable from official documents
Where our data comes from
We don't measure noise. Every decibel figure below comes from the manufacturer's own documentation — official spec sheets, manuals, or product pages — and links to its source. The two models absent from this guide (ecozy DW-CT200A and Farberware FDW05ASBWHA) have no manufacturer-published noise figure; their retail-site numbers are not used.
If we couldn't verify a spec from an official document, it's shown as "—". We never use retailer figures as a substitute for manufacturer documentation.

Frequently asked
What dB level is 'quiet' for a countertop dishwasher?
Under 50 dB is genuinely quiet — comparable to a quiet conversation or background hum. Only the Bob at 43 dB hits that mark. The 50–55 dB range (Hermitlux, COMFEE' CDC22, Danby, GE) is clearly audible but conversational. Above 55 dB (HAVA, COMFEE' CDC17) you'll notice it across a small apartment.
Why don't all dishwashers publish noise specs?
There's no US requirement to publish noise figures for countertop dishwashers (unlike built-in models, which often carry FTC EnergyGuide labels). Some brands choose to publish them; others don't. Two of the nine models in our database — ecozy and Farberware — have no official noise documentation.
Can I run a dishwasher at night in an apartment?
The Bob at 43 dB would be the best candidate — that's quieter than most refrigerators. The Hermitlux at 50 dB and the COMFEE' CDC22 at 52 dB are reasonable. Above 55 dB, you'll hear it through a wall.
Is there a big difference between 43 dB and 62 dB?
Yes — decibels are logarithmic. Every 10 dB roughly doubles perceived loudness. So the COMFEE' CDC17 at 62 dB sounds roughly four times as loud as the Bob at 43 dB. The difference is unmistakable.
